Boysen, Randy
Randy Boysen, 50, of Scotch Grove, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at his home following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Monticello, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello. The Rev. Darryl Larson will officiate at the services.
Surviving are his wife, Jennifer; five children, Mandi (Mike) Bushman, Marion, Mitch Boysen and special friend Jeni Lafler, Cedar Rapids, Ryan Boysen, R.A.F. Aconbury, England, Brittney Boysen, Scotch Grove, and Jacob Hartwig, San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren, Logan and Landen; his mother, Byrdena of Monticello; four brothers, Dave (Lynette), Don (Mindy), Gary (Heidi) and Terry (Leisa), all of Monticello.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Junior Boysen.
Randall Dean Boysen was born July 29, 1960, at the John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Iowa, the son of John Junior and Byrdena (Harms) Boysen. He received his education in the Monticello Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1979. Randy Boysen and Jennifer Hinz went on their first date in December 1993 and were married on June 12, 1999, in Las Vegas, Nev. Randy has been employed at Kwik Way in Marion since 1984.
Randy loved spending time with his family, especially camping and fishing. He enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds, watching the Packers the Hawkeyes and NASCAR. He also looked forward to the Saturday night card games with friends.
