Boulware, Edward 'Scotty'
Edward “Scotty” Boulware, 74, of Lilburn, Ga., died Sept. 23, 2009, after a short battle with cancer.
Born in Scranton, Iowa, Scotty married Marilyn Reicks in 1957 and lived in Carroll until moving to Atlanta, Ga., in 1986. He worked for SunData, Inc. as a sales representative.
Scotty's passion was his faith and family. He and Marilyn raised seven children and were blessed with 13 grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, where he attended daily mass, was a Eucharistic minister, usher and adoration guardian. He was involved in the Stephens Ministry and Friends of St. Martin DePorres as well as other services to the church and church members.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; their children, Tammy and Marty VanErdewyk of Cedar Rapids, Kim and Tom Frady of Cedar Rapids, Mary Beth and Scott Townsend of Knoxville, Tenn., Scott and Jane Boulware of Seattle, Wash., Matt and Kendra Boulware of Loganville, Ga., and Clay Boulware of Tampa, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Si; two sisters, Katheryn Thomas and Madoline Baker; and many brothers- and sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tracy; his parents, Alva and LoEtta; two brothers, Val and Robert; and a sister-in-law, Betty.
The funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3175 Hathaway Ct. NE, Atlanta. Interment will be at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the church, with a Scriptural prayer service beginning at 8 p.m.
