Booze, John A.
John A. Booze, 75, of 625 42nd St. NE, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, in his home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Jan. 15, 2011, at Papa's Sports Bar in Hiawatha. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his daughters, Laurie L. (Jim Roman) Sexton of Cedar Rapids and Julie A. (David) Houston of St. Michael, Minn.; his sons, David J. Booze and James (Tracey) Booze, both of Cedar Rapids; his siblings, Donald (Erika) Booze of Toddville, Faye Bouck of Cedar Rapids and Dorothy (Charles) Wolfe of Marion; and his grandchildren, Heather Sexton, Lauren Houston, Kyle Booze, and Zach Booze.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Joann Booze; and his parents.
John was born June 14, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Myron and Marian Booze. He married Peggy Joann Hess on June 4, 1955, in Cedar Rapids. John was employed at Rockwell Collins as a technical electrician. He served in the Army during World War II.
John was nostalgic about music. He loved automobiles, fishing, football, the outdoors and tinkering with electronics.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
