1931 - 2013
The Rev. W. Ramon Booth, 82, of Cainsville, Mo., died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
He was born Oct. 2, 1931, near Mount Moriah, Mo., the son of Walter and Mildred (Bears) Booth and grew up in the Cainsville and Mercer areas. On Jan. 3, 1951, in Richmond, Mo., he married Carolene Smith of Washington Center, Mo., and to this union two daughters were born.
Ramon was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and pastored at Ridgeway, Mo., Oxford Junction, Iowa and Cedar Rapids. When Ramon was 17 years old, he preached his first sermon at the Assembly of God Church in Cainsville. This past summer, he preached his “finale” sermon at Cainsville Assembly of God. He retired in 1997 and moved to Cainsville, Mo. He served as interim pastor for several years at Van Wert, Iowa, and for a short time at the Assembly of God Church in Cainsville, MO.
Ramon is survived by his wife, Carolene, of 62 years; two daughters, Joyce (Mark) Thomas of Cedar Rapids and Teresa Booth of Urbandale; granddaughter, Heather Thomas; grandson, Ryan Thomas; sister, Joanna Daugherty; nephew, JR Daugherty; and nieces, Treanna and Serena Daugherty, all of Springfield, Mo.; uncle, Kenneth Bears of Halltown, Mo.; aunt, Joan Pratte of Springfield, Mo.; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and niece, Vanessa Daugherty.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Assembly of God Church, Cainsville, Mo. Burial: Cain Cemetery, Cainsville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, Mo.
