Bonnie Jo Petrik, 70, of Fairfax, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, in her home. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with burial to follow in Fairfax Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids are in charge of arrangements.
Bonnie was born Jan. 6, 1951, in Maquoketa, the daughter of Alvin and Arlene (Luett) Jorgensen. She graduated from Maquoketa High School and later attended Mount Mercy College. Bonnie was united in marriage to Paul Petrik on Sept. 8, 1973, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. She worked at College Community Schools for over 30 years as a transportation aid. Bonnie enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Paul; her daughter, Stephanie (Jeff) Miller of Monticello; grandson, Jacob Miller; her siblings, Garry (Lucinda) Jorgensen of Bellevue and Linda (Jerry) McCoy of Cedar Rapids; her sister-in-law, Donna Dennis of Omaha, Neb.; her brother-in-law, Richard (Nadine) Petrik of Cedar Rapids; as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mother- and father-in-law, Dorothy and Paul Petrik; and brother-in-law, Mike Dennis.
