Bonnie G. Emanuel, 73, died peacefully Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at home surrounded by her loving family and friends following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Blairstown Presbyterian Church, 109 Prospect St. SE, with the Rev. Dr. William G. Jamison officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at M.J. Kirby American Legion Post, 120 Benton St. NE, Blairstown.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy.
Phillips Funeral Home, Blairstown, is in charge of arrangements.
Bonnie was born April 14, 1943, to Norval and Clara (VanVeen) Kirby. On June 2, 1961, she married Larry Emanuel in Oskaloosa. Bonnie enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers and birds. She loved spending time with her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Bonnie will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; her children, Russ (Kelly) Emanuel, Robin DeNeve and Wendy (Rob) Craft; her grandchildren, Justine (Jared) Koster, Eric Emanuel, Alex Payton and Kaitie Craft; her great- grandchildren, Kale Holland and Kira Koster; her sister, Karen McBeth; and her brother, Terry (Lola) Kirby.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law, Lanny DeNeve.
