Bonnie M. Bower, 80, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Visitation: one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, David of Cedar Rapids; sons, Rodney Bower of Waterloo and Vincent (Natalie) Bower of Cedar Rapids; and grandchildren, Deanna Bower and Austyn Bower.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dean Swett and Harold Swett; and sisters, Mary Malcolm and Thelma Puff.
Bonnie was born Feb. 2, 1936, in Tabor, Iowa, daughter of Silas and Ada (Grosse) Swett. She graduated from Tabor school district and later from teachers college at Wayne State College. Bonnie married David on June 28, 1959, in Tabor.
She was a member of Country Wives of Center Point and Center Point United Methodist Church. Bonnie loved camping and going to the casino, but she especially loved spending time with her family.
A memorial fund has been established and may be mailed to the funeral home at P.O. Box 324, Center Point, IA 52213.
