Bondeena Hertha Hass, 97, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Mechanicsville Specialty Care. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 21, at Mechanicsville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cindi McKee officiating. Visitation: one hour before the service. Arrangements with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services.
Bonnie was born Aug. 3, 1919, in Bennett to Henry and Hertha Eggert. She graduated from Mechanicsville High School in 1938. She was united in marriage to William C. Hass on March 11, 1939, in Iowa City. They were married 66 years before his death in 2005. They spent their working years farming near Mechanicsville before moving to town in 1993. They enjoyed gardening, antiques, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and going to Ditto's for meals. She treasured her family.
Bonnie was a member of the Mechanicsville United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She worked 10 years at Collins Radio in Anamosa. She was loving and compassionate, caring for her mother, her aunt and her husband in their later years.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy (Ray) Linder of Stanwood and Sally Koering of Stanwood; a grandson, Jeff (Cindy) Linder of Cedar Rapids; two granddaughters, Susan (Nate) Orvis of Muscatine and Amy (Ron) Jackson of Mount Vernon; four great-grandchildren, Reece and Reagan Linder and Nolan and Eryn Jackson; as well as a sister-in-law, Ella Mae Eggert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister and two brothers.
