Bohr, Dean Harold
Dean Harold Bohr, 82, and his wife, Annie Bohr, both of Mechanicsville, died Thursday, March 3, 2011. The family will receive friends from 9 until 11 a.m. Monday at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon. A private family graveside service will be at Lisbon Cemetery, with military rites.
Surviving Dean are his children: son, William (Grace), Anamosa; three daughters, LeAnne Bohr, Mount Vernon, Sharon (Greg) Young, Blairstown, and Janet (Dane) Bescher, Mechanicsville; a brother, Don (Rita) Bohr, Lisbon; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, with two on the way.
Preceding Dean in death were his parents, Harold William and Hilda Mary (Stritt) Bohr.
He married Laurene Marie Conner on May 1, 1954, and she died in 1991. He married Marianne “Annie” Danly on May 22, 1993, and she died March 3, 2011.
Dean was born Oct. 3, 1928, in Lisbon. He graduated from Mechanicsville High School in 1946. Dean served with the U.S. Army in Korea during the war and was a member of Busch-Dennis American Legion Post 109, Mechanicsville. Dean retired after 25 years as an assembler for Rockwell-Goss in Cedar Rapids, and was a member of International Association of Aerospace Workers Union Local 831.
