Bohlken, Theodora 'Dora'
Theodora “Dora” Bohlken, 88, of Marion, died Nov. 20, 2013, in Hudson, Fla., following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Dora is survived by her loving husband, Earl Bohlken of Marion; sister, Ann Thomas; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Joyce; four brothers, Mike, Peter, Sam, and George Tampas; two sisters, Mary Gayes and Frieda Kish; and infant sister, Anna Tampas.
Theodora “Dora” Bohlken was born Jan. 16, 1925, in Sault Saint Marie, Mich., the daughter of Speros and Akrivi (Panayopoulos) Tampas. Dora married Earl Bohlken on Aug. 26, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Dora worked for Farmers State Bank in Marion for 33 years until she retired in 1989. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Earl, and gatherings with her retired women's bank group. Dora was a member of the Red Hat Society. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorials in Dora's honor may be directed to First Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor's choosing.
