Bohlin, Zilphy I. 'Zelpha'
Zilphy I. “Zelpha” Bohlin, 92, longtime resident and educator from Coralville, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at Sorden Cemetery near Keswick. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to benefit the students at Coralville Central Elementary School.

Zilphy Irene Hummer was born June 9, 1921, in Keswick, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Ella (Irons) Hummer. Following graduation from Keswich High School she attended the State University of Iowa. She married Ralph Bohlin on July 20, 1941. She taught school in Sigourney for one year and in Tiffin before beginning a career at Coralville Central Elementary which spanned over 28 years before her retirement in 1982.
She was a member of the Coralville United Methodist Church, PEO and DAR chapters in this area.
Her family includes her husband of 72 years, Ralph; son, Ralph of Baltimore, Md.; and a daughter, Sue Bohlin and her husband, A. Lee Burns, of North Hampton, Mass.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.
