Bodi James Brokaw
Mechanicsville
Bodi James Brokaw was born on April 5, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital to his mom, Jenna Brokaw. On August 20, 2025, his family learned he had a rare condition called a malignant rhabdoid tumor. On December 3, 2025, Bodi left this world in the comfort of his home, wrapped in love and surrounded by his family.
From the very beginning, Bodi was his family’s bright spot. He adored dinosaurs and could watch The Land Before Time over and over. He loved soft blankets, Christmas lights, and any kind of music that filled the room. But more than anything, Bodi loved being close to his siblings—Jaysi, Maliyah, Zakiyah, and Israel—who were truly his favorite people.
He is deeply loved and will be forever remembered by his mom, Jenna of Mechanicsville; his siblings; his maternal grandparents, Les and Larklyn Brokaw; maternal great-grandmother Coleen (Gary) Townsend; maternal great-grandfather Terry (Jeanette) Ward; paternal great-grandmother Jane Brokaw; his aunt Lacey (Steve) Sauer; and cousins Charlie and Kiehl.
He was welcomed into heaven by his paternal great-grandfather, Kenneth “Red” Brokaw.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, and his family will gather privately to honor their sweet boy. Dawson Funeral Services of Olin is caring for his family.
Bodi’s time on earth was short, but the love he gave—and the love he inspired—will stay with his family forever.
Online condolences may be left for his family at www.dawsonfuneral.com. Cards of condolences may be directed to Dawson Funeral Services, Attn: Bodi Brokaw, PO Box 258, Wyoming, Iowa 52362.
