Sherry D. Boche, 71, of Muscatine, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at the Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Steve Cauley will officiate the service. Casket bearers will be Steve Day, Fred Day, Ike Day, Imanuel Hoppe, Sieg Hoppe, Jonathan Hoppe, Richard Perrenoud, John Paul Stork, Scott Boche, Roger Boche, Andy Boche and Jason Boche. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Epilepsy Foundation.

Sherry was born on Dec. 30, 1938, in Zeigler, Ill., the daughter of Roy Thomas and Mary Pauline Belcher Smith. She married Kurt K. Boche on Dec. 30, 1966, in Anna, Ill. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Her grandchildren were the very center of her universe. She enjoyed painting, writing poetry and framing pictures. She will be remembered as a very generous, sharing and kind wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Kurt Boche of Muscatine; one son, Craig A. Boche and wife Joan, of Marion; two grandchildren, Paige Boche and Marshall Boche, both of Marion; one brother, John Merry and wife Anita, of San Dimas, Calif.; and two sisters, Margaret Perrenoud and husband Robert, of Winfield, and Lois Straight and husband Charles, of Boynton Beach, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
