Bobbie Rhea (Elam) Travis, 93, of Western, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, at Hiawatha Care Center. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, at Shueyville Church. Burial will be in Shueyville Cemetery.
Bobbie was born Feb. 9, 1930, in Oklahoma City, Okla. She graduated from Duncan High School, Class of 1948. Bobbie was united in marriage to Raymond Travis on Nov. 2, 1947, in Henrietta, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and cherished the time spent with her family. She enjoyed quilting, bowling, gardening and sewing. Bobbie volunteered for many years at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was a longtime member of the Shueyville United Methodist Church and of the United Methodist Women.
Bobbie is survived by her husband Raymond; her children Jim Travis, Gloria (John) Bohn and Sheila (Tom) Stepanek; her grandchildren Michael (Carrie) Bohn, David Bohn, Steve (Joy) Travis, Julie (Barry) Kaminski, Holly (Ryan) Rogers; her granddaughter-in-law Brittney Stepanek; 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Stephen Stepanek, daughter-in-law Linda Travis, and her three brothers.
Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Humane Society or to Shueyville Church in her name.
