Bob Gerot, 89, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at Halcyon House in Washington following a long battle with Parkinson's disease. A service to celebrate the life of Bob will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington with the Rev. Herb Yoder and Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday at Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the United Presbyterian Church Sanctuary Project. Online condolences may be sent for Bob's family through the web at www.jonesfh.com.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Peggy Gerot of Washington; and children, Sharon (Mike) Dautremont of Robins, Nancy (Jay) Greene of Ainsworth, Laurie (Scott) Pemberton of Washington and Mike (Carla) Gerot of Clive. He was grandpa to Brittany (Joe) Elmquist of Audubon, Wes (Jen) Dautremont of Cedar Rapids, Bradee Greene of Newhall, Stacia (Aaron) Walker of Cedar Rapids, Taryn (Kyle) Collins of Crawfordsville, Kiley (Andy) Roder of Kalona and Matthew Pemberton of Washington. He was also great-grandpa Bob to 10 adorable great-grandkids, Lane, Leyton and Rees Elmquist, Jack and Gavin Dautremont, Cora and Lila Walker, Emery and Kasen Collins and Bo Roder.
