Blechschmidt, Elizabeth 'Betty'
Elizabeth “Betty” Blechschmidt, 99, of Amana, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, Middle Amana Community Church, Middle Amana, with Elder Jon Childers officiating. Burial will be in the Middle Amana Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Middle Amana Church.
Memorials may be contributed to the Amana Church Society or the Amana Heritage Society.
Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, Rosie Brower of Silver Springs, Md.; several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Willard Dickel (Mary Lou) of Middle Amana; a sister, Marie Schaefer of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred “Joe” Blechschmidt; and two sisters, Johanna Kellenberger and Wilma Schaefer.
