Blaine William Corkery, 64, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family. In agreement with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Blaine’s life will be held at a later date. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Blaine was born on March 22, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of
William Vincent and Marilyn
Esther (Bachman) Corkery. He graduated from Lisbon
High School and went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Navy. Blaine worked construction, CertaPro Painters, and most recently, LL Pelling Co. Blaine enjoyed playing slow pitch softball and was an avid pool player. He loved NASCAR and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Blaine will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Blaine is survived and lovingly remembered by his four children, Stephanie (Kevin) Corkery of Sioux City, Iowa, Amber Corkery of Deltona, Fla., Brea (Billy) Adams of Diberville, Miss., and Brandon (Abby) Corkery of Cedar Rapids; mother, Marilyn Corkery of Marion; sister, Cindy (Gary) Collins of Marion; brother, Brad (Sharon) Corkery of Coggon, Iowa; former spouse, Mary Corkery of Diberville; and seven grandchildren, Loreli, Malcom, Cayden, Kevin, Elliott, Sienna and Diem.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Corkery; and one granddaughter, Fiona Elizabeth.
