Blaine Munson, 62, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021, at home following a battle with cancer. Memorial service:
1 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 2202 Forest Dr. SE, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; daughters, Holly Bassett, Andrea Munson and Sally Munson; grandchildren, Lila Kate Runde, Elijah Bassett and Jackson Bassett; brother, Theodore (Roxanne) Youngton; nephew, Joe Youngton; niece, Tory (Adam) Devine; stepfather, Dick Peick; and best friends, Derek Davis and Dick Bales.
Blaine Ira Munson was born Nov. 3, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, to Wayne and Doris (Davis) Munson. He graduated from Marion High School in 1977, then later attended apprentice school to become a union sheet metal worker. Blaine worked as a sheet metal worker for many years, retiring in 2017. He married Beverly Linman at Bethany Lutheran Church on April 22, 2021. He enjoyed bowling, welding, fishing and music, especially the blues and great guitarists. He belonged to the Sheet Metal Workers Association and Bethany Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Munson; mother, Doris Peick; cousin, Dick Munson; and former spouses, Monica Munson and Susan Munson.
