Black, Dorothy M.
Dorothy M. Black, 88, of Washington, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Washington County Hospital following a short illness. Celebration of Life services will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will begin at noon today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends and family from 4 to 6 p.m. Interment will take place at Valley Cemetery in rural Washington.
She is survived by seven children, Janet Rees of Columbus Junction, Sandra Aggson and husband Danny of Wellman, Connie Baker and husband Joe of Harper, Carmen Black of Washington, Iowa, Karen Blakley and husband Mike of Libertyville, Robert Black and wife Melody of Wellman and Marsha Drayfahl and husband Ron of Ainsworth; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Martha Brown and husband Kenneth of Mount Pleasant.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2000; son, Daryl Black; infant son, Allen Black; grandson, Bryan Black; as well as five siblings, Lucille Ross, Lawrence “Bud” Baker, Helen Brown, Clark “Spark” Baker and Mary Schooley.
Memorials have been established for the Washington County Mini Bus or local elementary school libraries.
