Biwer, Elizabeth June
Elizabeth June Biwer, 87, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, surrounded by her family at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a brief illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Pastor Tim Carter. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Richard (Pat) Biwer, Alice (Arlen) Cummings, James Biwer and Steven Biwer; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and siblings, Isabelle Hollenbeck, LeRoy Wolfe, Beulah Moss and Clifford (Jan) Wolfe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ernest and Edward Wolfe; and daughter, Darlene Slaymaker.
Elizabeth was born June 13, 1926, in Marion, Iowa, daughter of Gerald and Alice (Colson) Wolfe. She married Norbert Biwer in Clinton, Iowa, on Feb. 14, 1952. Elizabeth was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Her faith and family were most important to her.
Elizabeth also enjoyed gardening and taking care of her plants.
