Bistline, Harley
Harley Bistline, 69, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Harm Olthouse officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Harley was born Jan. 17, 1944, at Belle Plaine, to Charles and Emma (Zamastil) Bistline and graduated from the Brandon High School in 1962. On Oct. 26, 1968, he was united in marriage to Marie Webster at the Brandon United Methodist Church.
Harley farmed and drove a truck in the Brandon area and also worked at Denton Castings. He was a member of the Brandon Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Marie of Walker; his sons, Lance (Susan) Bistline of Walker and Shaun (Miranda) Bistline of Belle Plaine; his daughter, Deb Bistline of Brandon; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; his brother, Don (Virginia) Bistline of Brandon; and his sisters, Elsie Whitsell of Chelsea, Lucille Meyer of Apache Junction, Ariz., Joyce Staab of Vinton and Jean (Robert) Reid of Corus Christi, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant daughter, Candace; and his sister, Verna Rushton.
