Bisek, Myron I.
Myron I. Bisek, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Crestview Acres Care Center, Marion. Services: 4 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Rick Gail. Family will greet friends from 3 p.m. until service time Sunday. Burial: VA Cemetery, Adel, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Michael; her children, Pat Myers, Marion, Peg Cook, Cedar Rapids, and Michael A. (Julie) Bisek, Robins; three grandchildren, Matt (Jessica) Cook, Shelly Kramer and Kris (Jaymi) Meyers; and seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Hailey, Destiny, Khy, Lane, Layne and Gracie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Estes, Bill and Oland Moore; and grandson, Josh Cook.
Myron was born April 20, 1927, the daughter of George and Christine Moore, in Biloxi, Miss. She attended school in Biloxi and worked on the Keesler Field Army Air Corps Base, where she met Michael. On Oct. 6, 1945, they were married in Biloxi and moved to Cedar Rapids after Michael's discharge. Myron raised her family and later worked part-time in a bakery.
For 30 years, she was a pianist at Grace Brethren Church in Cedar Rapids. Myron loved music and enjoyed playing the piano. She also enjoyed being an accompanist for students.
