Billick, Marion A.
Marion A. Billick, 85, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Private family services will take place.
Marion was born in Lone Tree on Jan. 28, 1924, to Joseph and Edna Hawthorne Billick, and graduated from West Branch High School. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corps in Saipan and the Marshall Islands. He married Vivian Shipley in 1945; they later divorced.
Survivors include his children, Ralph (Ann) and John (Lisa), both of Tipton, Beverly Meixner of Atalissa, Bruce (Sheila) of Paullina, Ken of Buford, Ga., Grady (Judy) of West Branch, Monica (Rick) Derr of Tequesta, Fla., Stephen of New Braunfels, Texas, Twila Barnes of Iowa City, Tim of Marion and Francis Ballew of Knoxville, Tenn.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a special friend, Christa Hallet of Springfield, Mo.; his former wife, Vivian of West Branch; and a sister, Florence Hayslett of Iowa City.
