Bill (William J.) Chudacek, 65, passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2018.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father Steven Witt officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. A reception will follow at the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Regina Foundation for Athletics.
Bill was born in Iowa City on Feb. 19, 1952, the son of Joseph W. and Elizabeth (Utterback) Chudacek. He attended St. Mary's Elementary School and was a 1970 graduate of Regina High School. Bill also attended Kirkwood Community College.
Bill drove for Hawkeye Foods for many years. He loved his work and the customers he served. Bill was a valued employee and received numerous awards through the years. Although he could be stubborn, Bill always was determined and had a strong work ethic.
Bill was a private person, but enjoyed time spent with family and friends. He liked doing yard work, watching football, baseball and the Olympics, and, most of all, collecting unique glassware and other interesting objects. Bill was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Bill is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen Chudacek, of Iowa City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
