Bierschenk, Linda
NEWHALL - Linda Bierschenk, 68, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at her rural residence following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall, with the Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating. Interment will be held at St. John Cemetery near Newhall. Visitation also will be held at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday.
A memorial fund has been established.
Linda was born Feb. 16, 1942, at Blairstown, to Arnold E. and Irene (Becker) Furler and graduated from the Newhall High School. On Nov. 4, 1960, she was united in marriage to Dennis A. Bierschenk at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall.
A busy farm wife, mother, and grandmother, Linda was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall, American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 169 of Newhall and a 40-year member of the “What's Trump?” Card Club.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis A. Bierschenk of Newhall; her mother, Irene Furler of Newhall; two sons, Cary (Jennifer) Bierschenk of Van Horne and Steve (Monica) Bierschenk of Wildwood, Mo.; her grandchildren, Kyle Dhondt and Zach, Ally, Jacob, Gabriel and Rachael Bierschenk; her sister, Kathryn (Tom) Hanneman of Iowa City; and several aunts, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arnold E. Furler.
Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements.
