Beyer, Clarence LaVern
Memorial services for Clarence LaVern Beyer, 88, of Tipton, who died April 2, 2012, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at the United Methodist Church, Tipton, with Pastor Paul Frederiksen officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the memorial service on April 28 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Clarence was born May 30, 1923, in Buchanan County, Iowa, the son of Floyd Elmer and Velma Pearl Andrews Beyer. He was a 1941 graduate of Urbana High School. On April 9, 1944, Clarence was united in marriage to Ila Mae McKinley in Brandon, Iowa.
Clarence was employed for 30 years by Soil Conservation Services. He was a member of the Tiger Mart Coffee Club and a charter member of Isaac Walton League - Red Oak Chapter. Following retirement, Clarence and Ila spent winter in the Texas valley for 24 years.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Ila M. Beyer of Mechanicsville; daughters, Linda (Delbert) Berghoefer of Hampton and Patricia (Gary) Janssen of Island Lake, Ill.; sons, Al (Nancy) Beyer of Gillette, Wyo., and Mark (Debbie) Beyer of Ava, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister in infancy, Ila Nellie Beyer; sister, Della Irene Shogren and her husband, Jim; and stepgranddaughter, Amy Bidwell.
