Beverly Trumbull, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, March 27, 2015, at UnityPoint Health– St. Luke's hospice unit, Cedar Rapids, after a brief illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 30, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29, at the funeral home. Burial: Coggon Cemetery, Coggon.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Don, Cedar Rapids; children, Tracy (Gary) Peterson, Clear Lake, and Doug (Pam) Trumbull, Norway, Iowa; four grandchildren, Samantha (Mike) Trumbull, Dubuque, Drew (Kasey) Trumbull, Newhall, and Grant and Trudy Peterson, Clear Lake; siblings, Kenny (Pat) Topping, Cedar Rapids, and Robert Topping, La Mesa, Calif.; brother-in-law, Kenny Kucera, Rosemead, Calif.; in-laws, Bob and Ellad Trumbull and Corrine and Nyle Sauer; and many special nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Francis and Darwin (Eileen) Topping; and sisters, Twyla Topping, Pauline Kucera and Lois (Bob) Wade.
Beverly was born June, 2, 1936, in rural Delhi, Iowa, daughter of LaVerle and Iva Topping. She graduated from Coggon High School. On Feb. 26, 1956, she married Donald Dewey Trumbull. Beverly worked at Iowa National Insurance for several years and then was a stay-at-home mom for her family. Once her children were through school, she joined Don and together they operated Ray's Foodland in Norway, Iowa, until 1988. Beverly then worked for Cedar Rapids schools in the lunch program for eight years.
Don and Beverly retired to Mission, Texas, in 1999 and moved back to Cedar Rapids in 2004. She loved to play cards, bake cookies and spend time with her grandchildren.
She was loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed.
