Beverly Ann Schrader, 85, of Walford, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday
at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Dustin Vu. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. A rosary will be recited on Sunday at 2:45 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Friends may visit with the family following the rosary Sunday at the funeral home from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Monday after 9:30 a.m. at the church.
Bev is survived by her children, Cinthia (John) Freeman of Dubuque, Bill (Molly) Schrader of Walford, Julie (Rusty) McCloud of Arlington, Texas, Larry (Becky) Schrader of Norway and Rick (Linda) Schrader of Watkins; many grandchildren and great- grandchildren; sister, Barbara Fogarty of Oklahoma City, Okla.; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Boland of Springville, Milly Boland, Lou Lorimer of Cedar Rapids, Barbara Schrader of Fairfax and Betty Schrader of Norway; brothers-in-law, Art (Phyillis) Schrader of Dysart and Harry (Jo) Schrader of Cedar Rapids; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; son, Daniel; grandson, Evan Freeman; and brothers, Merlin, Bob and LeRoy Boland.
Beverly Ann was born Dec. 1, 1931, the daughter of William and Genevieve Deeney Boland in Waucoma, and graduated from Springville High School. She married James Schrader at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion on Nov. 25, 1954. He died in 1994. Bev retired in 1996 as postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service in Walford. She also worked as a visitation hostess for Teahen Funeral Home for the past 14 years. Bev was a member of St. John XXIII Catholic Church.
Bev cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her dog, Cody. She loved to sew and owned a drapery business, creating beautiful drapes for many years. Bev enjoyed playing cards with her friends in the Tripoli Card Club.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
