Beverly Eileen (Baldwin) Packingham, 84, lifetime resident of Palo, died Sunday, June 8, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday June 13, at the Palo United Methodist Church. The Rev, John Howerton will officiate. Burial will follow at the Palo Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour before the service. The body has been cremated.
Beverly Eileen Packingham was born May 12, 1930, the daughter of Adelbert C. and Nora B. (Burkart) Baldwin. She married Delmar R. Packingham on Sept. 4 1948, in Iowa City. Together they bore and raised nine children.
Beverly worked for the U.S. Postal Service, serving both in Palo and Cedar Rapids for 31 years, retiring in 1985.
She is survived by her children, Nora Venenga (Edgar) of Port La Vaca, Texas, Delbert (Doris) Packingham of Cedar
Rapids, Kim (Barb) Packingham, Shirley (Allen) Schmitz, Dennis (Tammy) Packingham and Gregory (Cassie) Packingham, all of Palo, William (Beverly) Packingham of Shellsburg, Donald (Diane) Packingham of Urbana and Colette (Bill) Barkdoll of Garrison; 19 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar in 2003; her parents; and brothers, Dale H. and Claire E. Baldwin.
