Beverly G. Nelson, 64, of North Liberty, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Bev's memory to Iowa City Hospice. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the funeral home website at www.gayandciha.com.
Beverly Gail Estes was born July 5, 1952, in Iowa City, the daughter of Homer and Geneva (McCabe) Estes. She attended Coralville Central Elementary, Central Junior High and West High School, graduating with the Class of 1971. She married Robert L. Nelson on July 27, 1974, in Washington, Iowa. For many years, Bev worked for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and later at VA Health Care System. She enjoyed life to its fullest, camping with Bob, going antiquing, shopping, to the casino, sewing, knitting and of course, her pets!
Her family includes her sister and husband, Nancy and Dan Barnhart; sister-in-law, Pat Edwards; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her faithful pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, James Estes; and sister-in-law, Darlene Nelson.
