Beverly Jean McEnany,
71, of Walker, died peacefully in her home on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, following a short illness. Funeral services:
10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment will follow at Walker Cemetery.
Bev was born Jan. 2, 1947, to Henry and Marcia (Ford) Smith in Urbana, Iowa, and was a lifelong resident of Walker. She graduated from Walker High School with the Class of 1965 and later attended Young School of Beauty Culture. On June 12, 1967, Beverly was united in marriage to Michael James McEnany in Walker. In addition to being a housewife, Bev also worked as a beautician and was a teacher's aide at North Linn Elementary for several years. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, traveling, feeding birds and doing battle with the squirrel that also enjoyed the bird food.
Bev is survived by her husband of 51 years, Mike McEnany; sons, Scot (Manette) and T.J. (Thera) McEnany; four grandchildren, Kane, Nathan, Grady and Trey, all of Walker; sister, Mary Ann (Larry) Burke of Walker; several brother and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Marcia Smith; and son, Kerry James McEnany.
