Beverly J. Krogman, 73, of Worthington, Iowa, died Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave. SW, Dyersville. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, with burial at St. Paul Cemetery in Worthington. The Rev. Dennis Lowe will officiate.
Bev was born Sept. 8, 1941, in Iowa City, the daughter of George and Mary (Mott) Ellison. Bev grew up in Anamosa and was blessed with five children from her first marriage. She was later united in marriage to James Krogman on Oct. 28, 1977, and they resided in the Worthington area. She had a 30-year career at the Ertl Company in Dyersville. After she retired, she attended college and earned an associate degree in computer science. She went back to work for a brief period and decided to retire, and enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for her grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing, time at the park, quilting, crocheting, gardening and watching her orchids grow. Beverly has touched many lives and will be cherished forever.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; three children, Karen Faber of Dyersville and David (Dianne) Simmons and Scott Simmons, both of Worthington; three stepchildren, Dorrie (fiance Bob Trenkamp) Mitchell of Monticello, Nancy (Don) Oswald of Earlville and Dennis Krogman of Dyersville; eight grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-granddaughters; siblings, Mary Buck of Wyoming and James (Evelyn) Ellison of Manchester; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Ellison of Cedar Rapids; a brother-in-law, Norman Edwards of Minnesota; and nine Krogman in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Danny Joe and Annette Simmons; one stepson, Mark James Krogman; three siblings, George R. Ellison Jr., Georgia Ann Edwards and William C. Ellison; a brother-in-law, Wally Buck; and 20 Krogman in-laws.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Shady Rest Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque, especially nurse Cindy B., for the compassionate care provided in her final months.
Memorials are preferred to Hospice of Dubuque.
