Beverly Hagan Happel, a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2024, at the age of 85, with her family at her side.
Born in Shellsburg, IA on August 7, 1938, Beverly was a beacon of love and faith throughout her life. On August 11, 1960, she married her high school sweetheart, Merle Happel, with whom she raised two children and built a strong family legacy.
Bev's life circled around her family but especially her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she loved spending time with them and supporting them. She was also close with her sisters and had many friends she enjoyed spending her time with.
Having a strong faith that guided her throughout her life, Bev found comfort, hope and joy in her personal relationship with Jesus. Her unwavering trust in God was a source of strength for herself and those around her.
She will remain in the hearts of her loving husband Merle; children Timothy (Kristin) Happel and Karina (Peter) Clysdale; grandchildren Daniel and Nathan Clysdale; sisters Eloise (Norman) Rinderknecht and Colette (Philippe) de Abreu; sister-in-law Grace (Tom) Copley; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Doris (Pickerell) Hagan.
A memorial service celebrating Bev's life will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Shepherd of the Valley Church in Afton, MN. Visitation will start at 10 am followed by a memorial service at 11 am. Memorials are preferred to Shepherd of the Valley Church or to the donor's choice.
