Beverly Barnett, 85, of Iowa City, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, surrounded by family at Mercy Hospice Unit following a long illness. A private
service will be held at a later date.
Beverly Ann Kocher was born Nov. 23, 1933, in Clarksville, Iowa, the daughter of
F. Glenn and Tena (Nothnagle) Kocher.
She was united in marriage to Ben R. Barnett on Oct. 1, 1955, in Clarksville. Beverly was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Although she lived the last 54 years in Iowa City, Clarksville always remained "up home."
Beverly's family wishes to extend their gratitude for the gracious consideration shown them by both Mercy Hospice and Lensing.
Beverly is survived and missed by her husband of 63 years, Ben Barnett; their two children, Leesa (Michael) Johnson of West Branch and Paul Barnett of Iowa City; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Madison Johnson of West Branch.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dorlan and Carol Kocher.
