Beverley “Bev” Jean Philpott passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, after a sudden pulmonary embolism, surrounded by her husband, Ian, and daughters Alex Philstrom and Caroline Philpott. Her legacy is carried on by her grandchildren - Hazel and Rowan Philstrom, and Maxwell Kusiak.
Among her many roles, Bev was a warm and wonderful wife, Momma, Nana, teacher and friend. Bev was born in the UK and emigrated to the US in 1982. She dedicated her life to helping others, whether through her 30 years of teaching medical assisting at Kirkwood Community College, her support of organizations and causes she felt strongly about, or simply her unwavering love for her family. She found joy in knitting, crosswords, 6-star sudoku, gardening, volunteering, traveling, books, biology, organizing & labeling, and wearing comfortable shoes.
Her laughter, generosity, kindness and gentle guidance touched so many lives, and her memory will forever be cherished.

There will be an event celebrating her life in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in the early spring (date TBD).
