Betty Sue Strunk, 86, of Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Cedar Rapids and Marion, passed peacefully and went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, March 2, 2019. A graveside service to honor Betty Sue's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Tranquility.
Surviving are her children, Gay Strunk and wife Debora of Marion, Donald Strunk and Cyndy English of Harahan, La., and Rob Strunk and Cindy Meier of Omaha, Neb.; her grandchildren, Thomas (Julia) Strunk, Matt (Laura) Strunk, Jacob (Leela) Strunk, Amanda (Jim) Strunk, Evelyn (Kevin) Strunk, Price Strunk and Isabella (Trevor) Butterbaugh; seven great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Isabelle, Chloe, Amelia, Alexander, Enzo and Jasper; her brother, Wayne DeMint of Fort Madison; her sister, Marjorie Ziskovsky of Toledo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Carroll.
Betty Sue Strunk was born on June 2, 1932, in Marceline, Mo., the daughter of Price and Gladys DeMint. She was united in marriage to Carroll G. Strunk on July 31, 1953. He preceded her in death in 1986. Prior to moving to Florida, Betty Sue was a member of First Baptist Church of Marion. Betty Sue loved living in the warm weather of Florida, square dancing, riding her bicycle and playing cards. She also enjoyed when her sons, grandchildren, family and friends were able to visit with her. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
The Strunk family would like to extend special thanks to Pete and Jean Morris and family, and Brandi Strunk and family for their love, friendship and care they provided to Betty.
