Betty A. Stoddard, 89, of Williamsburg, formerly of Walker and Rowley, died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at her home, after a long illness. Services at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Burial at the Quasqueton Cemetery, Quasqueton, Iowa. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include three daughters, Elaine (Lonnie) Pruitt of Florida, Joan (Rod) Wright of Missouri and Lois Bressler of Williamsburg; a son, Phillip (Sharon) of Rowley; a sister, Alene Roberts; and a brother, Fines Wilcox.
She is also survived by four grandsons, Tim (Mary) Hogan, Chad Von Lienen, Terry (Ondrea) Hummel and Todd (Jill) Hogan; four granddaughters, Tammi (Alan) Upah, Sandra (Dan) Ferguson, Tracie (Dave) Kubas, Kimberly (David) Critchley and Johhna, who was like a granddaughter to Betty; 18 great-grandchildren, Brittany, Blake and Ben Christiansen, L.C., Alex and Alyassa Conn, Ethan, Christian and Tyler Glandorf, Colton Stoddard, Chelsea and Trevor Thulin, Jack, Ben and Kate Hogan, Carson and Cooper Von Lienen and Evan Hummel; and one great-great-grandchild, Lucy Grace.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Corey Stoddard; a granddaughter, Cynthia Von Lienen, who died at birth; two sisters; and three brothers.
Betty was born March 6, 1924, in New Camberia, Mo., the daughter of Elmer and Goldie Meeks Wilcox. She married Clifford L. Stoddard on Jan. 29, 1941, in Linneus, Mo. Clifford passed away in 2006.
Betty worked at Collins as an inspector and retired from there after 28 years of service. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, crocheting, knitting, reading, her cats and especially the time spent with her beloved grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed.
Memorial donations may be given to Essence of Life Hospice in Amana or the Quesqueton Cemetery.
