Betty L. Scott, 89, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Cedar Rapids, went to her Heavenly Home on
Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, Mo. A memorial will be Monday, July 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a brief service at 12:30 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, located at 3113 First Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404. Her final resting place will be with her husband at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Betty Lee Scott was born Sept. 5, 1924, to Leo and Blanche Meyers in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Joseph G. Scott on Sept. 30, 1972, at Little Brown Church in Nashua.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Warner of Kansas City, Mo., and Mary Cuhel of Galena, Ohio; stepson, Steve Scott of Marion; grandchildren, Angela Fry, CJ Warner, Andrew Cuhel, Sandy Jones, Amanda Millhollin and Ashley Markisohn; and six great-grand-children.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents; a twin brother, Leo "Bud" Meyers Jr.; a sister, Virginia "Billie" Meyers; and a grandson, Michael West.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to First Church of the Nazarene.
