Betty J. Moody, 85, died June 21, 2015, at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Private family burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg, Iowa. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, John (Diana) Williams of South Field, Mich., Chrystal Strauss of Cedar Rapids and Gene (JoDee) Moody of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Madilyn Greenwood of Vinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike; brothers, Tom Railsback and Charles Greenwood; and son-in-law, Richard Strauss.
Betty was born on Jan. 23, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Hazel (Freeman) Greenwood. She attended Shellsburg High school. On Sept. 15, 1955, Betty married Mike Moody.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy.
