BETTY MENNENGA

Betty Mennenga, 83, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Virginia Gay Nursing & Rehab in Vinton following complications of Alzheimer's disease. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 1, at the United Methodist Church in Garrison with the Rev. Lexie Kirkpatrick officiating. Interment will be held at the Garrison Cemetery. Friends may call at the Phillips Family Center in Vinton from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
A memorial fund has been established for the United Methodist Church in Garrison.
Betty was born Nov. 5, 1931, in Hamburg, Mo., to Julius Phillip and Ida Mae (Lynch) Graveman. On May 11, 1951, she was united in marriage to Roger Mennenga at Reinbeck, Iowa.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Garrison. She loved to cook and sew and to keep an immaculate home. Betty especially loved her family.
She is survived by her husband, Roger of Garrison; her son, Randy Mennenga of Garrison; her daughter, Deb (Loren) Zmolek of Dysart; her granddaughters, Laurie (Kendall) Havran of Dysart, Lisa (Jon) Asmussen of Dysart and Heidi (Phil) Anderson of Madison, Wis.; and her great-grandchildren, Blake, Dylan and Nolan Havran of Dysart, Carter, Grace and William Asmussen of Dysart, and Sasha and Samuel Anderson of Madison, Wis.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter-in-law, Pat Mennenga; and her brothers, Oliver and LeRoy Graveman.
