Betty Mae Emanuel, 93, of Fairfax, died Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Colonial Manor in Amana. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, at St. John XXIII Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery in Norway. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday, March 19 at Brosh Chapel & The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids.
Betty was born May 4, 1924, in Walford, the daughter of Louis and Sadie (Rotter) Erger. She was united in marriage to Ralph H. Emanuel on Jan. 14, 1941, in Walford. She worked at Killian's Department Store and Frontier Herbs for many years. Betty was a member of the Catholic Order of Forresters, VFW Legion Auxilary Post 572 and St. John XXIII. Betty enjoyed playing cards, knitting, crocheting, going dancing and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her children, Ralph (Nancy) Emanuel, Marcia (Russell Larry) Foubert and Clarence Emanuel, all of Fairfax; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Erger of Cedar Rapids and Pat Erger of Norway; as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; her brothers. Glen, Curtis, Ronald and John Erger; and her sisters, Arlene Wodstrichill and Sharon Raim.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
