Betty M. Kruse, 95, passed away Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023. A visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 22, from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m., at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Entombment will follow in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Betty Mae Miene was born on a farm south of Postville, Iowa, to Otto and Florence Miene. She graduated from Postville High School and from Paris Academy of Cosmetology in Cedar Rapids. In her early years, she worked as a beautician. Later, she did office work; she worked at FMC for 20 years. Betty was an active member of First Lutheran Church for over 60 years.
She was an avid gardener who took great pride in her many rose bushes and houseplants. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, bowling, sewing and reading.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Jake) Clark; grandsons, Brian (Melissa) Barnard and Aaron (Angie) Barnard; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Bailey, Dillon and Allison Barnard; siblings, Mary Chicken and Mark Miene; and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Cloy and Paul Miene; first husband, Donald Null; second husband, Richard W. Kruse; and daughter, Dawn Barnard.
