BETTY JEAN RICHARDSON
Monticello
Betty Jean Richardson of Monticello, Iowa, passed away Dec. 3, 2018, after battling complications with diabetes.
Betty was born March 3, 1933, in Maquoketa, Iowa. She was the daughter of William and Violet Earles Rickels. She attended Monticello Schools. Betty waitressed from many years and also was a loving mother and homemaker. She was a remarkable cook and took great pride in her beautiful flowers, trees and the garden she tended.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Vi; a sister, Nancy; first husband, Galen Hayen; a son, Jay Hayen; and husband, George V. Richardson.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Lynda Caspers (Doug) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mark Hayen (Lisa) of Monticello, Iowa; and Kelly Richardson (Valerie) of Charleston, S.C.; nine grandchildren, Brett (Alicia), Eric (Kelly), Joel Caspers, Samantha Hayen Schroeder (Jonathan), Mitch Hayen, Thaddeus Richardson, Jamie Jo Hayen, Jenny and Michael Zoller; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for family are pending at a later date through Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello.
