Betty Jane (Boysen) (Brockhohn) White, 90, went home to her Savior Jesus Christ Thursday, March 17, 2022, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 5338 Johnson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The funeral service will follow the visitation and begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Jay Jentink will officiate.
She was the daughter of German immigrants Henrietta Osterkamp and Julius John Boysen. Betty was married to Alvin Brockhohn for 29 years and later to Jim White for 30 years. She was a hard worker, employed at Square D, where she retired in 1993. Betty was a devout Christian and a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed making blankets and gave dozens away. She loved to dote on her Pomeranian Molly.
Betty was a cherished family matriarch who gave much joy and care to her immediate and extended family.
Surviving are her children, Marilyn (Ron) Ehrle of Cedar Rapids, Alan (Amy) Brockhohn of Swisher and Jacqui (Tim) Brown of Galesburg, Ill.; her brother, Ronald (Lynda) Boysen of Mesa, Ariz.; and four grandchildren, Mary (Tom) Krueger of Redfield, Amy (Justin) Caldwell of Cedar Rapids, Blair (Josh) Mayes of Henderson, Nev., and Blake (Brooke) Brockhohn of Fairfax. Also surviving are 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Alvin Brockhohn and Jim White; her daughter, Diane, who passed in 1978; her stepson, James White, who passed in 2021; and her seven siblings.
The family would like to thank the staff at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital and Stoney Point Meadows for the love, care and support given to Betty.
