Betty Gruwell, 95, of Marion, passed away on
July 10, 2021, at Northbrook Manor Care Center.
Visitation will be held
from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with funeral service to follow starting at

Betty Jean Stocker was born Feb. 18, 1926, on the family farm near Moravia, Iowa, the daughter of Milton and Bertha (Simmons) Stocker. Betty was united in marriage to Harold Gruwell on Aug. 31,1957, in Kirksville, Mo. She worked as a home daycare provider and later as a school bus attendant for Linn-Mar Schools. Betty loved to cook, flowers and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her husband, Harold; her children, Michael (Kathy) Hull, Pamela (Dean) Huff and Jerry (Nancy) Gruwell; her grandchildren, Chad (Dawn) Huff, Jennifer (Brad) Gillen, Lindsey (Scott) Davis, Sloane Huff and Brad Gruwell; five great-grandchildren; her siblings, Bonnie Clancey and Marge Coghlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Lee Hull; four brothers; and seven sisters.
