Betty is survived by two daughters, Linda (Bob) Dunahugh of Cedar Rapids and Julie (Gil) Brown of Indianapolis; one son, Jeff (Joan) Dudrey of Marion; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ron (Kay) Bauers of Duluth, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; son, Randy; daughter, Debra Smith; granddaughter, Heidi Bruggeman; four sisters, Lucylle Jader, Ann Killian, Margaret Killian and Barbara Sather; and one brother, Jack Bauers.
Betty Jane was born Aug. 29, 1925, in Duluth, Minn., the daughter of Leonard and Margaret Wavernick Bauers. She married Vernon E. Dudrey on Sept. 28, 1946, in Duluth. He died in 1987. After living in Duluth for 32 years, Betty and Vernon moved to Iowa in 1958 and then to the Cedar Rapids area in 1963. Betty worked as a bookkeeper for Kirkwood Community College for 16 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Betty enjoyed her time spent dancing with Vernon, bowling, shopping, going to the casino, playing card games, especially double pinochle, and traveling to see new places. She had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Betty's son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Joan, had the privilege of caring for her in her final years, and Betty's family was very grateful for their love and care.
