Betty L. Cowgur, 74, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids. There will be private family services. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Betty was born April 18, 1942, in Peoria, Ill., the daughter of George Cowgur and Bernice Kessler. She graduated in 1960 from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School. Betty used her clerical skills while working in the offices at Rockwell Collins and Amana Refrigeration. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Betty enjoyed playing cards and always loved a good book.
Betty in survived by her sister, Elaine Cowgur of Cedar Rapids; and her many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
