Betty Lee Coleman, 88, of Marion, passed away from an illness Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Linn Manor Care Center in Marion. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Betty was born July 28, 1927, the daughter of Sam and Ida Mae (Thomas) Farrington, in Martelle. She was married to Donald Lyle Coleman on Nov. 17, 1945, and they were together for 71 years. He passed away in 2008.
Betty was the co-owner of Iowa Camera Service. She also worked for Linn-Mar schools for 12 years.
Survivors include her five children, Sandra (Ray) Oberruter, Peggy Cherrier, Gary Coleman, Connie Coleman and Donna (William) Hunt; eight grandchildren, Rick Oberreuter, Christine (Tyler) Hammack, Trent (Sarah) Coleman, Greg Carstens, Amber (Doug) Warnell, Carrie (Trent) Fish, Kimberly (Michael) Biechler and Chad Reynolds; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorthy Waln.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, June; and six brothers, Walter, Carl, Francis, Warren, Howard and Marvin.
The family wishes to thank Linn Manor Care Center, St. Luke's Hospice and PCI Hematology and Oncology for all its care toward Betty.
