Betty L. Boubin, 67, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Linwood Chapel, Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, with a funeral liturgy at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Survivors include her children, Michele (Mike) Mitchell of Birmingham, Iowa, Lisa Dlouhy of Cedar Rapids, Amy (Mark) Cassel of Manchester, Iowa, Dan Boubin of Cedar Rapids and Renee Boubin of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Emily, Jake, Carl, Lyle and Henry; sister, Louise (George) Lafler of Cedar Rapids; half-sister and brother, Carol and Dale; brother-in-law, Jerry Boubin of Independence, Iowa; sister-in-law, Pati (Jerry) Rabik of Shellsburg, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Max.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; sister-in-law, Bonnie Boubin; and nephew, J.R.
Betty was born on July 9, 1948, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the daughter of William and Maltida (Deere) Hockenbury. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School in 1966. Betty married Donald on Sept. 2, 1967, in Cedar Rapids at St. Ludmila Catholic Church. She raised her family, then worked for Service Master. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren grow.
