Betty was one of the first female Realtors in Cedar Rapids. She owned two real estate companies and was an honorary life member of the Cedar Rapids Area Association of Realtors. She had been a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church for many years, and was a past president and longtime member of the League of Women Voters in Linn County.
